Why it gets ordered
The structure fails before the pipe does
Manholes take the corrosion. Gases collect at the crown, the concrete degrades from the top down, and the bench and channel wear where flow turns. A collection system is often losing structures long before it is losing pipe.
Inflow through a degraded structure is also one of the quieter drivers of infiltration, which in Florida means groundwater in the sanitary system and treatment capacity spent on water that should never have entered it.

We are not certified for confined space entry and we do not offer it. If a job genuinely requires entry, that is a different contractor.

Level 1 is a visual assessment. Level 2 is the detailed condition record. The scan unwraps into a single flat image of the whole interior.
What that looks like on the day
- Scope before we roll. Size, footage, access and whether the line needs cleaning first. This is what stops a half day becoming two.
- Site walkthrough. Crew looks over access, traffic and overhead hazards, then holds a tailgate meeting before anything opens.
- Set up. Cones and signage placed, structures opened, equipment positioned.
- Clean if needed. A camera cannot read through debris, so anything in the way comes out first.
- Run the inspection. Observations recorded and coded live. You or your inspector are welcome to watch.
- Code and compile. Findings coded to the NASSCO standard, tied to footage markers, assembled with the video.
- Walk you through it. We go through what was found and what it means, rather than emailing a file and leaving.

Does anyone go into the manhole?
No. The camera is lowered on a tripod and captures the full interior. It is a confined space non-entry inspection, which is why it does not need an entry permit or a rescue plan.
What is the difference between level 1 and level 2?
Level 1 is a visual assessment, essentially whether the structure is sound and whether a closer look is warranted. Level 2 is the detailed condition record, coded to MACP.
What is a 360 scan and why does it matter?
The camera captures the entire interior surface and unwraps it into one flat image. Everything reads in a single view rather than as a set of angles you have to piece together.
Do you do grease trap and confined space assessments too?
Yes, using the same non-entry camera approach. If you would rather not send someone into a structure, we can usually put the camera in instead.
Do the structures need cleaning first?
Often, yes. Debris in the bench hides exactly the wear you are trying to assess.
