Breaking up pipe blockages without digging

Jetting is the motion of water forced down a pipeline through a nozzle. As the nozzle is drawn back it scours the wall and drives debris back toward the structure, where it can be removed.

Where a vacuum truck lifts material out, jetting breaks it up and moves it. Which one you need depends on whether the material has to leave the system or simply stop blocking it.

Different pipe and different material call for different nozzles. A penetrator drives water forward to open a clog. Others push it sideways to scour the wall. Choosing wrong costs hours.

The hose is fed the length of the segment, then drawn back under pressure so the nozzle scours the wall on the return.

Material removed or moved

Debris driven back to the structure is vacuumed out if you have booked the truck, or moved downstream if the goal was simply to restore flow.

What that looks like on the day

  1. Scope before we roll. Pipe size, footage, what you think is in the line and where the water comes from. Nozzle selection starts on this call.
  2. Site walkthrough. Crew looks over access and traffic and holds a tailgate meeting before anything opens.
  3. Set up and filter. Trailer positioned, water taken on and filtered. Grit in the supply opens the jets and drops the force, so this step protects the whole job.
  4. Feed the run. Hose fed the length of the segment so the nozzle starts from the far end.
  5. Draw back under pressure. The nozzle scours the wall on the return, driving material back toward the structure.
  6. Clear the structure. Debris driven back is vacuumed out if the truck is booked, or moved on if restoring flow was the goal.
  7. Check the result. Where a camera is booked, we run it after cleaning.

Most requests arrive with a location and nothing else. That is fine, we will come back and ask. But if you have these, you get a real number instead of a range.

Grease does not sit in the middle of a pipe. It builds on the wall, and the opening closes a little at a time until the day there is no flow left.

That day is rarely convenient. The backup surfaces at a fixture, at a tenant, or in a kitchen during service, and by then it is an operations problem with a cost that has nothing to do with plumbing.

What pressure do you jet at?

2,500 psi. Higher is not automatically better. Nozzle selection matters more than raw pressure for most blockages.

Do you use chemicals?

No. Water only. Nothing enters your system or the water it eventually discharges into, which matters in Lakeland where stormwater goes into named lakes.

Will jetting damage my pipe?

Not when the nozzle and pressure are matched to the pipe. That matching is the job. Older clay and concrete get treated differently from new PVC.

Does jetting fix roots permanently?
