FOG · non-entry camera assessment
Grease trap assessment in Lakeland, FL
A camera assessment of the structural integrity of your grease trap and how much buildup is on the walls, for restaurants and food services. Non-entry, so nobody goes into the structure.
Why it gets ordered
Grease does not block a pipe all at once
Fats, oils and grease cool on the pipe wall and build outward. The bore narrows a little at a time until the day there is no flow left, and that day is usually mid service.
Central Florida makes this worse than most. Dense restaurant corridors across the Orlando and Tampa tourism markets, plus citrus and food processing in Polk County, put a heavy and constant FOG load into the system.
Straight answer
Grease trap assessment is not a pump out
We assess the structure and the line and tell you what condition they are in. We are not a pump out service, and we will say so rather than quote you for something we do not do.
Where the line needs clearing, hydro jetting removes the build up. Where you need proof of condition, the camera gives you a record.
The InSight Standard
How a grease trap assessment runs
Open, assess, document, and tell you what the interval should be.
01 · OPEN
Lids off, area secured
Grease traps sit in service yards and drive aisles. The area gets secured before anything opens.
02 · ASSESS
Camera in, nobody down
The camera goes into the structure and the connecting line. Confined space non-entry, so no permit and no attendant.
03 · REPORT
Condition and interval
What state the structure is in, what is in the line beyond it, and how often this site actually needs attention.

What we need to quote a grease trap assessment accurately
Most requests arrive with a location and nothing else. That is fine, we will come back and ask. But if you have these, you get a real number instead of a range.
- Job site location and access
- How many structures
- Roughly what size
- Whether the connecting line needs clearing
- How often the site has backed up
- What kind of kitchen or process feeds it
- Whether documentation is needed for a permit
- Access hours, if service hours restrict us
Do not have all of it? Send what you do have. Missing items are usually one phone call, not a site visit.
The arithmetic
What a neglected grease trap costs you
A blocked line during service does not cost you a plumbing call. It costs you the service. A commercial kitchen that cannot drain stops working, and it stops working at the worst hour of the day.
Downstream, FOG that leaves your site becomes the municipality problem in the collection system and at the treatment plant, which is increasingly where the scrutiny lands.
An assessment tells you the real interval for your site rather than the one on a generic schedule.

Condition of recordQuestions we get
Grease trap assessment, answered
Do you pump the trap out?
No. We assess condition and inspect the connecting line. We will tell you plainly what it needs rather than quote for a service we do not provide.
Does anyone enter the structure?
No. It is a camera based non-entry assessment, the same approach we use for manholes.
Can you clear the line as well?
Yes. Hydro jetting removes FOG build up from the connecting line.
How often should a grease trap be checked?
It depends on the load. A high volume fried food kitchen is a very different interval from a bakery. That is one of the things an assessment tells you.
What causes most of the blockages you find?
FOG on the wall, and wipes. Flushable wipes do not break down, and they catch on grease build up and stop the line.
