MarMac concrete protection products in Lakeland, FL
Microban based protective systems for manholes, wet wells and concrete structures sitting in a corrosive sewer environment. InSight is an authorized dealer, and we supply it to the same municipalities and contractors whose structures we inspect.
What it does
Concrete in a sewer is being eaten
A sanitary structure is a chemical environment. Gases collect at the crown, condense, and attack the concrete from the top down. That is why manholes fail at the cone long before the pipe below them does.
A protection system puts a barrier between the concrete and what is trying to consume it. Microban technology is built into the product rather than applied over it, which is the part that matters over a service life measured in decades.
Straight answer
We supply MarMac concrete protection, we do not make it
MarMac makes these products. InSight is an authorized dealer. We are not going to claim engineering credit for somebody else’s chemistry.
What we do bring is the inspection side. We can tell you which structures actually need protecting, because we have the coded condition report that shows it.
The products
Two MarMac products, stocked in Lakeland
Pickup or delivery across Central Florida. Volume pricing for municipalities, precast manufacturers and contractors with recurring needs.
PSC 2306 Concrete Coating
A polysiloxane coating that puts a barrier between the concrete and the gases and acids attacking it. It cross-links with the substrate, so it bonds into the surface rather than sitting on top of it. Goes on by brush, roller or airless sprayer.
AMX 5500 Concrete Admixture with Microban
Added at the mix, so the antimicrobial protection is in the concrete itself rather than on its surface. No change to cure time, finish or color. Built for precast, reinforced concrete pipe, box culverts and manholes.
Where it is used
Where concrete protection gets specified
Manholes and wet wells
The structures that take the worst of the gas exposure, and fail first.
Crown and bench protectionLift stations
Concrete in permanent contact with wastewater and the gases coming off it.
Corrosive environmentNew precast
Protecting a structure before it goes in the ground costs a fraction of rehabilitating it later.
Specified at installRehabilitation programs
Extending the life of structures that are degrading but not yet failed.
Life extensionQuestions we get
MarMac concrete protection, answered
What is Microban and why does it matter here?
It is an antimicrobial technology built into the product rather than coated on. In a sewer environment the microbial activity is part of what degrades the concrete, so addressing it at the material level is the point.
Do you apply it, or just supply it?
Ask us. Scope varies by structure and by project, and we would rather tell you plainly than imply a capability on a web page.
How do I know which structures need it?
A manhole inspection. MACP level 1 tells you whether a structure warrants a closer look, and level 2 gives you the detailed condition record to prioritise from.
Do you sell inspection cameras too?
No. InSight supplies concrete protection products, coatings and shoring. Camera equipment sales are not part of what we do.
